Milena Dopitová

This author of objects, installations, videos and photographs graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and is the winner of New York Pollock-Krasner Foundation Award. She first appeared at the beginning of the 1990s with art group Pondělí and became a remarkable author on the contemporary art scene. Her multimedia works of various forms, which always somehow impinge on women's issues, have gained recognition not only in the Czech Republic, but also abroad. She is inspired by ordinary life situations, but she transforms their forms into poetic stories with ambiguous meanings. She has many years of teaching experience at the Department of Fine Arts of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen and at the Academy of Applied Arts in Prague. She currently teaches Intermedia Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague.
