Tomáš Císařovský

This painter is amongst the most prominent figurative colourist painters of the middle generation. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, and since the 1990s he belongs among the artists whose works are respected and monitored by curators. He is invited to international exhibitions and separate presentations abroad. His series of portraits of descendants of Czech noblemen called Bez koní (Without Horses) aroused a great response. After visiting Peru, he moved from figurative painting to almost romantic landscape creation. All of his paintings also present insights into recent Czech history - the 1950s, the times of the hard communist regime, but also the recent Havel era. He is also continually working on drawings and graphic art.
